KENTUCKY DERBY EXACTA AND REVERSE EXACTA RULES

Awards for the contest will be based on the official order of finish as contained in the official chart of the Kentucky Derby as posted on the Churchill Downs results section of equibase.com, not television visuals. The contest will award to the initial chart after the race has gone official, not subsequent revisions to the race due to drug or other rules violations. The race is official only after it is declared official, prior to being declared the official order of finish is subject to steward's inquiries, objections, calls of foul, and disqualifications.

Winners are based on program # not post position.

20 units per block.

20 blocks where horizontal and vertical axis have same #, being ineligible to win as they have the same horse coming in first and second, will be blocked out and deemed unsubscribed blocks.

No units refunded for scratched horses, however, if there is a scratch AND an alternate horse is drawn in off the eligible list that horse will replace the scratched horse for the purpose of the block. So if the # 9 horse scratched and the # 21 horse is drawn off the alternate/eligible list then the #21 horse will run as block 9, and so on.

1st prize goes to block with winning horse program # on horizontal axis of grid and 2nd place horse program # on vertical axis of grid and is 37.5% of handle (2850 units if contest is fully subscribed, ie all blocks are assigned, less prize units if contest is partially subscribed).

2nd prize for boxed or reverse exacta goes to block with intersecting 2nd place horse on horizontal axis of grid AND winning horse on vertical axis of grid and is 12.5% of handle (950 units if contest is fully subscribed, ie all blocks are assigned, less prize units if contest is partially subscribed).

In the event that there is not a live block that has horses that run on both the horizontal and vertical axis then the block with the highest finishing horse on the horizontal axis is deemed the winner of first prize and /or the highest finishing horse on the vertical axis is deemed winner of second prize.

In the event of a Dead Heat for Win:

1st prize will go to block that intersects Lowest # Dead Heat Horse on horizontal axis with Highest Number Dead Heat Horse on vertical axis.

2nd prize will go to block that intersects Highest # Dead Heat Horse on horizontal axis with Lowest # dead heat horse on vertical axis.

In the unlikely event of a 3 or more horse dead heat for win only the highest and lowest program # horses in the dead heat for win qualify for prizes.

In the Event of Dead Heat for 2nd Place:

1st prize Will be divided evenly between blocks that have winning horse # on HORIZONTAL AXIS and ALL intersecting blocks that have the dead heated horses on vertical axis.

2nd prize will be divided evenly between ALL blocks that have dead heated place horses on the horizontal axis intersecting with winning horse on the vertical axis.

In the unlikely event of a 3 or more horse dead heat for 2nd Place all blocks with winning horse and intersecting dead heat place horses will pay.

In the event that either winning block for either 1st Prize or 2nd Prize is not subscribed, the next horse in the official order of finish will be deemed to be live to the award, EG For 1st Prize if Horse 3 came in first, Horse 7 came in second and Horse 9 came in 3rd, but the block on the vertical axis for horse 7 was not subscribed, then the winning block would be Horizontal Horse 3 and Vertical Horse 9.

In the event that one dead heat horse block is unsubscribed that block's share will revert to other dead heat blocks. Dead heat rules described above apply to horses lower in order of finish if winning blocks are unsubscribed.

In the event of a rule or question of interpretation The Studmaster will make the final ruling. Studmaster is a real term in stallion contracts; for the purpose of this contest Rich Schweitzer will act as Studmaster. In the event that the rule or question of interpretation impacts either Rich or his family member's blocks, Scott Burnham will be deemed Studmaster.

Every effort will be made to locate and distribute units to the winner of the pool. However, it is the winner's responsibility to claim the units. If after two weeks of the conclusion of The Kentucky Derby (fun racing fact: two weeks being the traditional time between The Kentucky Derby and The Preakness) the winner(s) has/have not been located nor have claimed their units, their blocks will be deemed unsubscribed and a winner determined per above.

This Pool may be run by multiple organizations on mirrored websites. If the pools are undersubscribed, Studmaster reserves the right to merge the pools and reassign blocks to get a fuller block field. In the event of the above, the multiple organizations will split remaining units based on the contestants that they obtained through their organizations.
